Özet (EN)

It is aimed to reveal the opinions of teachers related to the Support and Traınıng Courses (STC) which is started to implement in 2014-2015 academic year and affecting educational activities directly due to the increasing participation over time. The research was designed in the scientific pattern. The data were collected by semi-structured interview technique. Descriptive analysis technique was used to analyze the data. The STC started its activities in order to reinforce the information which is learned at school and contribute to students in preparing for the exams. According to the results of the research, it has reached the conclusion that STC is more effective on increasing the academic success of students on weekdays than STC on weekdays. Weekday STC also has advantages in terms of student attendance compared to the weekend. While the negativities such as fatigue and nutritional needs come up on weekdays, the problem of absenteeism comes up at the weekends. It is a proposal to improve the STC, where it will be beneficial to reduce the weekday lesson hours and to open support and training courses from skill lessons. Again at the weekend, proposals to prevent students' absenteeism and suggestions for solutions to the social problems experienced by students and teachers were brought in STC. The results revealed in the research are expected to guide the managers, teachers, students and parents regarding the courses, especially the Ministry of National Education. Keywords: Support and traınıng courses, weekdays, weekends, teacher
