Determination of yield and some quality components of fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum L.) genotypes

This study was carried out to determine seed yield and quality characteristics of some fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum L.) genotypes in Siirt ecological conditions. The research was conducted during 2018-2019 growing seasons in Siirt University, Agricultural Faculty, Research and Application Land. In research was used as material Adana, Afganistan, Berkem, Gaziantep, Gürarslan, Irak, Kahramanmaraş, Kayseri, Mardin, Şanlıurfa fenugreek cultivars. In the research field experiment was established as randomized complete block experimental design with four replicates. The study was investigated agricultural properties such as emergence time, % 50 flowering period, vegetation period, plant height, first pod height, pod width, pod length, number of pod per plant, number of seed per pod, biological yield, seed yield, harvest index, thousand seed weight, fatty oil ratio, fatty oil yield, trigonelline ratio. In terms of emergence time, % 50 flowering period, vegetation period, plant height, first pod height, pod length, number of pod per plant, number of seed per pod, biological yield, seed yield, thousand seed weight, fixed oil ratio, fixed oil yield examined in the research, significant differences were statistically determined p<0.01 among the genotypes. In terms of harvest index examined in the research, statistically significant differences were determined p<0.05 among the genotypes. There was no statistically significant difference between genotypes in terms of pod width. According to the result emergence time, 50% flowering period, vegetation period, plant height, first pod height, pod width, pod length, number of pod per plant, number of seed per pod, biological yield, seed yield, harvest index, thousand seed weight, fatty oil ratio, fatty oil yield, trigonelline ratio were changed between 16.3-20.5 day, 146.7-152.3 day, 205.5-210.5 day, 61.13-78.33 cm, 23.63-39.88 cm, 2.88-3.21 mm, 9.62-12.23 cm, 11.60-21.30 number/plant, 12.13-15.40 number/plant, 3097.0-5403.0 kg/ha, 764.0-1444.0 kg/ha, 20.93-32.89 %, 13.60-17.43 g, 5.04-8.92 %, 40.5-110.6 kg/ha, 0.71-1.32 % respectively. According to the one year results obtained from the research; It was concluded that Mardin, Kayseri ve Berkem genotypes should be used for the production of seed in fenugreek cultivation as a winter intermediate product in Siirt province climate and soil conditions.
