Abstract (EN)
Without a doubt, ancient Greek, ancient Iranian, Indian traditions, Egyptian traditions, and Islamic medicine based on hadiths of the prophet had influence in the development of Ottoman medical understanding. Muslim scholars such as Ibn Sina, Ibn al-Nafis, Ibn Zuhr, Al-Zahrawi, Al-Biruni, and Al-Razi, as well as Christian scholars like Hunayn ibn Ishaq and Cürcis, contributed to Islamic medicine with their works. In this direction, the development of Islamic medicine greatly contributed to the development of Ottoman medical understanding. Inside the developing Ottoman medical understanding, various medical books were written until the 17th century. In the work titled Devā-i Emrāz, written during this period, the traditional Ottoman medical understanding can be observed, which starts from the upper part of the body and progresses downwards. A study has been practiced of Devā-I Emrāz on the Hamidiye copy with the archive numbered 1023 in the Süleymaniye Manuscripts Library. Furthermore, the vocalized copy with the archive numbered 401 in the Tavşanlı Public Library has been used to correctly read disease names, plant names, and animal names in different languages. The study consists of Introduction, Review, Vocabulary, Text, Index, Conclusion, and Bibliography. In the Introduction section, focuses on the factors that shaped the Ottoman medical understanding and the concept of "müfred deva". In the Review section, the spelling, sound, and morphology of the work were analysed in the Text section, the Hamidiye copy of the Süleymaniye Yazma Eserler Kütüphanesi 1023 archive numbered Hamidiye copy was read in the Text section, and in the Vocabulary section, the names of animals, plants, compounds, physicians, and organs were emphasized; and in the Index section, the index of the article headings was made in the Index section. In the Conclusion section, the language features of Deva-i Emrazin the Bibliography section, the study was concluded with the names of the sources used in the study.
