Özet (EN)

This study has been researched for the comparison between the self-efficacy and job satisfaction of the teachers working on state and private preschools. The study uses the factors of state institute vs. private institute, gender, age, duration of service, class size and daily working hours as to understand if there is a significant difference between the self-efficacy and job satisfaction of the teachers working on state and private preschools. The research has been done using the polling method on 100 volunteer preschool teachers working at the state or private preschools in Sariyer, Istanbul. To determine the demographical attributes of the teachers, they have been given personal information form. To evaluate the self-efficacy, the Self-Efficacy Scale for the Preschool Teachers designed by Tepe and Demir in 2012 is used. To evaluate the job satisfaction, the Job Satisfaction Scale designed by Spector in 1985 is used. As the study states, the teachers working at the state preschools has higher job satisfaction than their colleagues working at private preschools. Their self-efficacy differs by the factors of state institute vs. private institute, gender, age and daily working hours. In addition to these, a statistically positive correlation between the self-efficacy and job satisfaction levels of the teachers working at the private preschools has been observed. Hence the teachers working at the private preschools have higher job satisfaction as they have higher self-efficacy.
