Abstract (EN)

In this study, the aim is to establish the frequency of the OSB children's use of libraries, the problems they encounter in this process, the responsibilities of their families, trainers and library staff in this regard, and to present solution proposals for the problem. A sample of the study is made up of 57 people: 15 library staff, 17 rehabilitation center trainers, 15 families of individuals with autism and 10 children with autism in the Başakşehir and Sultangazi districts of Istanbul province. The descriptive method was preferred in the study, and semi-structured interview and observation techniques were used in the context of associating the current situation with the objective of the thesis. We have calculated the number and percentage of socio-demographic information according to the information obtained using the SPSS 20 software. Content analysis method has been preferred for the analysis of the qualitative data of the study. At the end of the research, the specific aspects of library use of users with autism as disadvantaged groups were judged to be insufficiently known by all stakeholders of the process, particularly library employees, which adversely affected the service requests of users and the service qualifications of the library.
