Abstract (EN)

Our study: took place in-and around the city named Diyarbakir in the region of Guneydogu Anadolu, between the dates of 01.01.2008-31.12.2008, aimed to determine socio-demograpic specialities: protection from circumstances like genetic, social, economical, politic, domestic and environmental circumstances that may cause health and developement problems of newborns of the in-patients in a period of one year. Also providing a care on time with suitable way begin with pre-birth period, early definition of the newborn diseases, the best suitable approaches and the most effective threatements, health of the mothers, pregrancy and birth circumstances in the integrity of mother-infant are aimed to study.We had 515 in-patients recorded between the the dates of 01.01.2008-31.12.2008. the records of the 450 patients are checked.Percentage of the mortalty was found as %22.2.Precentage of male/female was estimated as 0.7/1.%6.5 of the patients SGA, %88.6 of the patients AGA and %4.9 of the patients are estimated as LGA.Percentages of the spontaneous vaginal birth was %43, caesarean section was %57 as estimated. Births of the studied patiens are done by doctors in a percentage of %89.Percentage of the the mothers of the studied patients who were graduated from elementary school or upper level was estimated as %31.1.The patients especially from Diyarbakir, and also from towns connected to Diyarbakir are forwarded to the DÜTF, and also the patients from Guneydogu and Dogu Anadolu regions (Mardin, Sirnak, Bitlis, Siirt, Batman, Sanliurfa, Bingol, Mus and rarely from Elazig) are forwarded to The University of Dicle Faculty of Medicine Department of Child Health and Diseases Field of Newborn.According to gestation weeks of the patients; %17.3 of them are 22-28 weeks old, %22.43 of them are 29-31 weeks old, %35,63 of them are 32-36 weeks old, %5.33 of them are 37 weeks old, %18.93 of them are 38-42 weeks old as estimated.In the study, the ages of the mothers were between 15-49, average age of the mothers was 29.38± 7.2 years, average pregnancy number was estimated as 3.99±2.88. Total percentage of the first pregnancy accepted as riky and mothers who had over 4 pregnancy was estimated as %61.When the mothers of the patients were searched on pregnancy angle, specifical pregnancy is estimated in a great percentage of %89. The mortality percentage in specifical pregnancy was estimated as %22.The ex patients in studied group was kept in the hospital in the average of 5.36 days, for discharged patients 12.27 days as estimated. %39.1 of the patients were lost in 24 hours, %21.7 of the patients were lost in 24-48 hours, %19.1 of the patients were lost in 3-7 days, %20.1 of the patients were lost in 8-30 days after applying to the hospital,%67.7 of the studied patients were from towns and %32.3 of the studied patients were from villages as estimated. %71 of the studied patients were 24 hours old, %11.5 24-48 hours old, %10 3-7 days old, %6.4 8-30 days old when they apply to the hospital.İmproving the perinatal care, avoiding the prematurity, giving a birth in better conditions, generalizing the first and the second level health services, giving consequence to education activities, improving and generalizing the newborn services tools and crew were taken as aims in the study.Keywords: Newborn, Sociodemographic features
