Industrial 4.0 conceptual awarenesslevels of university students in the process of digital transformation management"

The aim of this study is to determine the level of Industry 4.0 conceptual awareness of university students in the process of Management of Digital Transformation . The study was planned and designed in accordance with the quantitative research design. The study population consisted of Engineering Economics and Administrative Sciences with four universities in four different geographical regions in Turkey is composed of students who are studying in school. In the research sample, 472 university students determined by the purposeful sampling method were included. The data were collected with the help of Industry 4.0 Conceptual Awareness Scale (E4.0-CFS) developed by the researcher. The scale development study was carried out with 240 students who were not enrolled in the research sample and were studying in the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. In order to develop the E4.0-CFS, a pool of material based on literature was created. The 70-item draft scale was presented to the opinions of 5 faculty members and converted into a 39-item scale of implementation. Students' answers were analyzed by SPSS 24 package program. Kaiser-Mayer-Olkin (KMO) coefficient was found to be significant at "936) and Bartlett test result was 0.001. Results of the exploratory factor analysis showed that the percentage of variance explained in the single factor structure of the scale was tek 39,994 . The application of the developed E4.0-SCL scale on the main sample group, the students of the departments of Electrical-Electronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Mechatronics Engineering of the Faculties of Engineering at four universities in the fall semester of 2018-2019 academic year, and the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Department of Management Informatics 472 students. The collected data were analyzed by SPSS 24 package program. The results of the analysis did not show that the distribution of the data set was normal. The results showed that Industry 4.0 Conceptual Awareness levels of the students within the scope of the research were at a medium level. The gender variable and the results of the t-test conducted by the faculty type where the students are studying; The conceptual awareness levels of male students showed that the students of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences were significantly higher than the students of the Faculty of Engineering. One-way analysis of variance results; While there were significant differences between the students' opinions according to the universities, departments and grade point averages, it was found that there were no significant differences according to the grade level and secondary education graduation source variables. The results of the research were discussed on the basis of the related literature. Depending on the results of the research, it has been proposed to carry out multidimensional and various awareness raising activities in order to increase students' Industry 4.0 Conceptual awareness levels.
