Arabic in the context of language universals and linguistic typology

Linguistic typology, one of the most important scientific disciplines of our time, is a science that examines and classifies languages in many ways. Focusing more on the structural features of languages, typology examines human languages with certain parameters and reveals the differences and similarities between languages. Arabic is one of the most widely spoken languages of the world and has long been the subject of typological research. However, although the typology of Arabic has been examined in various specific aspects, no such study has been conducted in general terms to the best of our knowledge. In this study, linguistic typology and language universals are first defined in general terms, and then the place of Arabic among the world languages in various aspects is tried to be revealed. In the last part of the study, some important typological features of Arabic are discussed and the findings are listed in the conclusion section. Thus, the points where Arabic is similar to the world languages and the points where it differs from these languages have been identified.
