Abstract (EN)

In this study, in which the effect of teaching with a metaphorical method on the academic achievement of students in concept teaching was discussed, a mixed method was used. The quantitative part was carried out with the experimental research method, and the qualitative part was carried out with the qualitative data collection method through metaphor.. The research was conducted with 4 classes from Artvin Ayhan ġahenk VTAH which was selected as a sample in the 11th grade in the 2019-2020 academic year. It was deduced that students produced more metaphors that take their source from inanimate existence/matter. According to the students' views, the metaphorical method has effects such as increasing memorability, providing easier learning, and improving creativity. According to the pre-test/post-test results, the metaphorical method was more effective in increasing the academic success of the students. This effect is greater in successful classes with high readiness. From this point of view, it was suggested that metaphorical method contributed positively to the teaching of Religious Culture and Moral Knowledge, so it was suggested that more concepts should be included in teaching.
