Examination of the perspectives of Religious Culture and Moral Knowledge teachers on values education (Example of Hakkari province)

Values are elements that express the cultural, artistic, educational and human emotional states of a nation and ensure the continuity of society in a spiritual sense.The basic process that enables these items to be provided to individuals is values education.Thanks to this education, the values learned are associated with life and transferred to life.The research was conducted with the teachers of the DKAB course, who play an important role in internalizing values by placing values in the intra-course activities that are effective in teaching values.The qualitative research model was used in the research. 31 Teachers participated in the research and the data were obtained with a semi-structured interview form.Audio recordings were taken during the interview.The received audio recordings were then transferred to a Word file and analyzed.After the analyses, the results were obtained by creating themes according to the answers and giving similar teacher opinions together, and the results were reached.In the introductory part of our research; the problem situation, purpose and importance, limitations and assumptions of the research are discussed.In the conceptual framework section, values and values education are discussed and literature studies about our research are included.In the methods and findings section, the methods followed in the research and the findings obtained are presented.At the end of our research, the discussion, conclusions and suggestions reached within the scope of the research were included.According to the findings obtained as a result of the research, conducting values education in schools, DKAB course it has been concluded that teachers do various activities related to values education in schools, parents should also participate in values education, in-service training should be provided to teachers within the scope of values education, DKAB textbooks should be enriched in both content and activities for values education.The results obtained in the research are thought to contribute to the field writing at the point of revealing the perspectives of DKAB course teachers towards values education.
