Abstract (EN)

Aruz prosody, which was emerged in Arabic literature, influenced Persian literature then and ultimately Turkish literature. Persian aruz was systematized by Persian literary theorist, but such a course has not been followed in Turkish aruz. For centuries, the adaptation of the aruz prosody to Turkish literature has been restricted to certain uses that poets made while creating their works. This situation made it difficult to evaluate the applications of aruz prosody in terms of the structure of the Turkish language. In this study, the Divans of Şeyhi, Ahmed Pasha, Baki, Nef'i, Nedim and Yenişehirli Avni, who were considered as important poets of Turkish poetry between the fourteenth and nineteenth centuries, were examined in terms of aruz uses. Among these uses, it has been determined which of them will be considered as faults and which of them will be considered as pronunciation variants. Examples of these uses are given under the headings of pronunciation variants and pronunciation deviations. It is aimed to obtain numerical data on the subject by reflecting the results in the graphics in the last part of the study. Thus it was hoped to make it understandable that many practices that have been attributed to poets as faults for many years are actually the pronunciation variants they have introduced while applying aruz prosody to Turkish.
