Abstract (EN)
The letters, which were written in verse in Divan Literature and have the title called ?mektup? and ?nâme? (both mean the word ?letter?), form the subject of our study. 27 letters of 13 divan poets from different centuries are included in the study. The study consists of three main parts; introduction, research and conclusion. In introduction, the study is introduced with its various aspects. Then, information about the tradition of writing letter in divan literature is given. In research, the form, content and manner of the letters written in the style of poem are introduced and the positions of them in the letter tradition are studied. Below the topic The form of the letters in verse, by whom that the letters in verse were written; if there is, to whom they were presented; their verse type; how many couplets they are formed of; in which prosody that they were written; their rhyme; and if there is, their repeated words; are studied. Below the topic The contents of the letters in verse, it is focused on the causes of the letters to be written, their subjects, relations with the history and society. Below the topic the manner in the letters in verse, there is information about the words used in letters in verse, usage of the phrases, literary skills and expression ways. In the Conclusion part of the study, we tried to make a general evaluation about the letters in verse, depending on the information obtained from the materials studied.
