Abstract (EN)

This study was conducted as a randomized controlled trial to examine the effect of online trainings on foot care behavior and self-efficacy levels of individuals with type II diabetes. The study was conducted with 90 patients with type II diabetes who were admitted to the internal medicine outpatient clinic of a research hospital, a state hospital, and a university hospital or received inpatient treatment. Data were collected using a patient information form, the Foot Care Behavior Scale (FCBS) and the Diabetic Foot Care Self-Efficacy Scale (DFAS). ABDÖ and DABÖÖÖ were administered to the participants three times in total, once before, once during and once after the training. The 13-week training program was applied online to each patient in the training group separately. As a result of the study, it was found that the scores of the patients in the training group differed statistically significantly from the patients in the control group. It was determined that there was no statistically significant difference between the three measurements of the control group, while in the training group, the scores of ABDÖ and DABÖÖÖ increased from the second measurement. In conclusion, it was determined that online one-to-one trainings had positive effects on the foot care behaviors and diabetic foot care self-efficacy levels of individuals with type II diabetes.
