The period of the Prophet in Diyanet monthly magazine (1991-2024)

One of the legal duties of the Presidency of Religious Affairs is to inform and enlighten society about religion. In this regard, there are various activities in the units affiliated to the Presidency of Religious Affairs. It continued its work by dividing religious publication activities, which is one of these activities, into two main categories: periodical and printed publications. Diyanet Monthly Magazine, one of the periodical religious publications, started its publication life in 1968 under the name Diyanet Newspaper and continued to be published under its current name in 1991. In this study, articles about the Prophet Muhammad and his period, published in the Diyanet Monthly Magazine between 1991-2024, were examined. Our study consists of an introduction and two main parts. In the introduction section, general information about the subject, purpose, importance, method and sources used of the study is given. In the first section, after introducing the duties and activities of the Presidency of Religious Affairs, explanations were made about the history and content of the Diyanet Monthly Magazine. In the second part, a total of 408 issues published between 1991 and 2024 were examined. Among the issues examined, 351 articles directly related to our topic were identified. Due to the diversity of topics in the identified articles, the articles were classified under nine subheadings to make the study more understandable and systematic. The relationship of each article to the subject, which topics were emphasized in which years, the most frequently discussed themes and the prominent information in the articles were evaluated separately.
