Abstract (EN)
During the excavation of the ground floors of the archaeological and landscaping works of the bastions numbered 7, 8 and 9 in the vicinity of Dağkapı of the Diyarbakır Walls located in the Yenişehir district of Diyarbakır province, the groundwater problem encountered at approximately 660 m elevations stopped the works. It was observed that the groundwater level was above the excavation base elevation and occasionally rose seasonally. The solution of the encountered groundwater problem and drainage studies constitute the purpose of the thesis study. Within the scope of the thesis, in the section with groundwater problem around Diyarbakır Dağkapı 7, 8 and 9 numbered Wall towers, approximately 14,000.00 square meters of area were determined, geological and hydrogeological features were investigated, the status of groundwater was investigated, groundwater table map was created, and two alternative methods were determined as French Drainage and Catchment application as drainage method.
