Abstract (EN)

Aim: In this study, it was aimed to reveal the role of Tritrichomonas foetus in chronic and recurrent diarrhea of cats. Material and Method: In our study, diarrheal cats in Diyarbakır were examined for clinical, hematological and biochemical analyzes. Inpouch TF Feline culture and PCR analyzes were performed to identify the stool samples. Blood analyzes performed hematological and biochemical analyzes without waiting. Results: The cats had clinically recurrent chronic diarrhea, analytical pain, intolerance, and clumping. Hematologically, with the control group found that there is statistically significant between WBC, granulocyte, PLT, HCT, RDW, PCT, the number of centers at the annual center of eosonophils, found between lymphocytes, PDW and MCH. Amylase and lipase levels were determined biochemically. The value of the amylase alue and the value of lipase were not statistically significant. Stool samples from 30 cats in Diyarbakır were examined by Inpouch TF Feline culture test and polymerase system reaction (PCR) methods and positivity was not determined for T. foetus. Conclusion: As a result, there was no result of the presence of T. foetus in chronic and recurrent diarrhea cases. We believe that it will be beneficial to increase the number of samples and to make new studies in order to get more efficient results.
