Diyarbakir and its districts have hosted various civilizations throughout history, and have many monumental structures as they are located at the crossroads of culture, art, science center and important trade routes. Almost all of the states that ruled the city center of Diyarbakır, including roads and castles with geopolitical importance, established their dominance in Çınar district and left periodic traces. Çınar district, located on the southern borders of the city, is 20 km away from the city center. The district, formerly known as Melkis, Hanakpınar or Akpınar, is located on the Diyarbakır-Mardin Caravan Road. Its foundation dates back to the Hurrian period, which ruled the region in the 2000s BC. In the district, which has hosted many civilizations, there are historical values such as mounds belonging to ancient times, castles, bridges, castle cities, ancient settlements, ruins, inns, mills, madrasahs, mosques, pavilions and fountains belonging to many civilizations such as Roman, Byzantine and Islamic States. Zerzevan Castle, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List with a large visitor population, is also located within the borders of the district. The castle, where different civilizations ruled from the Assyrian period until the Islamic States took over the region, is of great importance as it sheds light on the architectural and construction techniques of many periods in terms of the diversity of monumental structures it contains. In the study, Güzelseyh Pavilion located in Altınakar Village Gelensu hamlet of Çınar district was discussed. There is no definite information about the date when the building was built. Considering the periodical annexes, other monumental building features and official documents on the building, it was first used as an inn/hostelry. It is mentioned in old Ottoman documents that it was used as a madrasa and lodge in the 1900s. The building, which was abandoned in the following periods, is an original and unique structure with its unique architectural and local style, with the combined use of basalt and limestone. In this sense, the documentation and protection of the building; culturally, socially and historically important and valuable for both the local people and the city. The main purpose of the thesis work is to document the building, most of which is in ruins and in a derelict state, before it is destroyed, and to take conservation decisions. Within the scope of the study, the changes that Güzelşeyh Pavilion has undergone over time have been observed and its problems have been identified. Architectural and construction features have been explained in detail and the current situation has been transferred to the survey drawings. A restitution study was carried out using existing traces, old documents, photographs and oral sources. Restoration and conservation proposals have been developed, projected and documented on behalf of the building, which is aimed to live thanks to the new function that will keep the social memory alive, serve the society and ensure sustainable use.
