Abstract (EN)

The rapid technological developments are continuously making our lives easier. However, such developments also poses some adverse effects on the health of human beings. The electromagnetic fields higher than that of the designated limits can be listed as one of the significant issues in this regard. Therefore, it is important to limit the magnetic fields to certain levels so that it cannot harm the human beings. In this thesis, the E group was measured at 27 MHz – 3 GHz in Diyarbakır city center and Dicle University. In this respect, this thesis aims to detect the sources and the level of the high frequency magnetic fields around densely populated locations in Diyarbakir city. The selective radiation meter device (SRM-3006) and three axis antenna have been used for the measurements by performing the drive test method. In this way the electric field strength values on the drive routes have been demonstrated in the form of contour maps and 3D thematic maps. The obtained data from around the city of Diyarbakır consist of FM, TV, Mobile communication bands (LTE800, 2G, LTE1800, 3G, LTE2100, WLAN, LTE2600) and WLAN, all of which contributes to the total electromagnetic field. Then, they have been separated through 3D maps in order to explain the reasons for the high mahnetic field values in the city of Diyarbakır. As a result, it was observed that all electric field values measured in Diyarbakir city center, Dicle University campus and one of the city's largest shopping centers were below the electric field limit values determined by Information Technologies and Communications Authority.
