Determination of the insect fauna in pistachio (Pistaciae vera L.) areas in Diyarbakir province

This study was carried out to determine the harmful and beneficial species for pistachio cultivars between the years 2010-2011 in Diyarbakır province. In order to determine the harmful and beneficial species the stroke method and monitoring methods were used.Those at the end of study 46 harmful species belonging to 22 families 4 in orders, as well as 33 benefical species belonging to 14 families 4 in orders were determined.Surveys were done by periods of 10 days between months april-october.Anapulvinaria pistaciae, Agonoscena pistaciae Burckhardt &Lauterer, Eulecanium rugulosum, Kermania pistaciella Amsel, Chatoptelis (Hylesinus) vestitus Mulsant & Rey, Suturaspis pistaciae Lindinger, Magastigmus pistaciae Walker and Eurytoma plotnikovi Nikolskaya of the harmful insect species were determined as important pests according to widespread and intensity of them.Psylliodes anatolica Gök & Çilbiroğlu, Apthona Atrocaerulea Stephens, Epitrix hirtipennis Melsheimer, Forda hirsuta Mordvilko, Anthaxia tractata Abeille, Agrilus roscidus Kiesenwetter, Aphthona flaviceps Allard, Longitarsus ochroleucus Marsham of the harmful species determined are the first records for pistachio.Anapulvinaria pistaciae Bodenheimer ve Eulecanium rugulosum Ashmead of the harmfulspecies were not determined in a study done between years 1975-1978 in Diyarbakır province, currently they were found widespreadly with a high importance.Key Words: Pistachio, Harmful Insect, Benefit Insect, Diyarbakır
