Investigation of oil resource potential of the south east of the Diyarbakır provience`s Bismil district with geological and geophysical methods

In this study, seismic data interpreted from the 22 seismic lines with a total 457,5 kilometers in length in order to determine the oil (petroleum) potential of South eastern of Bismil district of the Diyarbakır Province. These data were evaluated using the method of seismic stratigraphic. Correlations with offset wells and correlations of seismic/well/bedding were made getting well logs on the determined specific locations. As a result, the geology of the study area, structural elements and active faults were found. The most important structural feature that there is existence of petroleum potential on the study area are Bedinan Formation has a faulted trap system, very well grained/very well intergranular porosity and high permeability. Therefore, concluded that Bedinan Formation carries reservoir feature (resevoir rock). According to the techniques used in this study, a new wells that will be considered to be more efficient.
