Abstract (EN)

This present study respectively analyzes the birth, circumcision, military, marriage and death traditions which are in a period of transition and the beliefs manifested around them, bayrams? ceremonies and fests, folk beliefs, folk kitchen, folk doctor and the products of anonymous folk literature.In the first part of the study, the place of the addressed issues in Turkish public culture is attempted to be located in a follow of scanning the written sources and again their place in Ergani?s public culture is planned to be depicted in the light of the data gathered from the spoken sources. At the end of each chapter, there exists an assessment. In the light of the data gathered from the spoken sources, the differences and similarities between the traditions and beliefs detected and the old Turkish culture is aimed to be put forward.In the second part of the study, the place of the products of the verse, verse-prose and prose anonymous folk literature in Turkish public culture and Ergani?s public culture is mentioned and there is an evaluation of the format and content at the end of each subject.In conclusion, the beliefs and traces associated with old Turkish culture which have been moved up to the present from past in Ergani?s public culture and preserved in society are encountered.
