Determination of species belonging to order coleoptera of hevsel gardens (between sadi bridge and ten-eyed bridge) in Diyarbakir province

This study was carried out in Hevsel Gardens between Sadi Bridge and On Gözlü Bridge in Diyarbakır province, and between March-April-May-June-July-August-September and October of 2023-2024. While conducting the field study, different habitats were scanned at different times, considering the features affecting the distribution of beetle fauna such as vegetation, topographic structure and climatic structure of Hevsel Gardens. Our study area was divided into 5 main regions as grassland, bare land, woodland, agricultural area and aquatic area, and 2 localities were specified from agricultural and bare lands, 3 different localities from woodland and grassland, and 4 different localities from aquatic area. These localities were visited at least 2 times every month, and a total of 32 field studies were carried out in the same locality. The aim of our study is to determine the Coleoptera (Beetle) fauna found in Hevsel Gardens within the specified borders and to reveal the importance of Hevsel Garden in terms of insect biodiversity. As a result of the research; 11 families, 28 subfamilies, 43 genera, 51 species and 2 subspecies were identified. Of these, Hydrovatus cuspidatus (Kunze, 1818) belonging to the family Dytiscidae is a new record for Diyarbakır Coleoptera fauna; 3 species and 1 subspecies from the family Buprestidae: Clema freudei (Cobos, 1963), Dicerca aenea bella (Abeille de Perrin, 1891), Acmaeodera wethloi (Obenberger, 1940), Strigopteroides depressa (Fabricius, 1775), from the family Cerambycidae: Cerambyx cerdo (Linnaeus, 1758), Purpuricenus variicollis sp. Nov, Phytoecia (Phytoecia) geniculata (Mulsant, 1863) 3 species, Oenopia conglobata (Linnaeus, 1758) 1 species from the Coccinellidae family, Brachinus (Brachinus) crepitans (Linné, 1758) from the Carabidae family, Carabus (Procrustes) chevrolati (Cristoforis) et Jan, 1837), Dixus eremita (Dejean, 1825), Chlaenius (Dinodes) decipiens (L. Dufour, 1820), Calathus (Neocalathus) ambiguus (Paykull, 1790, Calathus melanocephalus (Linnaeus, 1758) 6 species, Myllocerus from the family Curculionidae damascenus (Miller, 1861), Coniocleonus nigrosuturatus (Schoenherr, 1834), Larinus latus (Herbst, 1874), Lixus cardui (Olivier, 1808) 4 species, Ilybius chalconatus (Panzer, 1796), Agabus biguttatus (Olivier, 1795), Agabus bipustulatus from the family Dytiscidae (Linnaeus, 1767), Agabus conspersus (Marsham, 1802), Hydroglyphus geminus (Fabricius, 1792), Hydroporus planus (Fabricius, 1782), Hydroporus pubescens (Gyllenhal, 1808), Hydroporus tessellatus (Drapiez, 1819), Hydrovatus cuspidatus (Kunze, 1818), Hygrotus confluens (Fabricius, 1787), Laccophilus hyalinus (De Geer, 1774), Laccophilusminutus (Linnaeus, 1758) 12 species, Lanelater persicus (Candeze, 1874) from the Elateridae family, Melanotus fraseri (Platia & Schimmel, 1993) 2 species, Protaetia (Philhelena) afflicta from the Scarabaeidae family (Gory and Percheron, 1833), Protaetia (Netocia) vidua (Gory and Percheron, 1833), Potosia cuprea(Fabricius, 1775), Oxythyrea cinctella (Schaum, 1842), Oxythyrea funesta (Poda, 1761), Amphimallon caucasicus (Gyllenhal, 1817), Euonthophagus atramentarius (Ménétriés, 1832), Valgus hemipterus (Linnaeus, 1758) 8 species, 1 species of Ocypus curtipennis (Motschulsky, 1849) from the family Staphylinidae, 6 species and 1 subspecies of Gonocephalum costatum (Brullé, 1832), Amnodeis asiaticus (Miller, 1858), Pimelia bajula solieri (Mulsant & Wachanru, 1852), Dailognatha caraboides (Eschscholtz, 1831), Adesmia gibbula (Reitter, 1916), Zophosis (Oculosis) dilatata (Deyrolle, 1876), Opatroides punctulatus (Brullé, 1832) from the family Tenebrionoidea, a total of 46 species and 2 subspecies are new records for the Coleoptera fauna of Hevsel Gardens. In addition, samples belonging to the Malacahidae and Curculionidea families were obtained in the study, but their identification could not be made because experts in this field could not be reached.
