Study; It was carried out to determine the salt tolerance levels of Diyarbakir Local Melon genotypes. In the research, 37 local melon genotypes (Cucumis melo L.) grown in the center and districts of Diyarbakir and collected before, as witnesses; A total of 40 melon genotypes were used, together with the commercial melon variety (Kırkağaç 637), Şemame genotype and Midyat melon, which is known to be salt tolerant. The research was carried out in the laboratory of Dicle University, Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Horticulture, in soilless agricultural conditions in 2021, in a randomized plot design with 3 replications. Hoagland nutrient solution was used in the study. In the research; plant length, root collar diameter, seedling fresh weight, root length and root fresh weight, leaf area, leaf number and weight, and 0-5 visual scale of the effect of salt application on the plant, dry weights of roots, leaves and stems, chlorophyll a and b content, carotenoid content, total chlorophyll, proline content, membrane damage index and proportional water content parameters in plant leaves were examined.İn the results of working; When the data obtained by applying weighted grading is examined; It can be said that the total score of genotypes 2111; 2119; 2122; 2124; 2133 and Midyat and Tatlı Melon Dereli genotypes is high and there is hope for these melons in future studies, especially breeding. It is thought that these genotypes can be used in breeding in salty conditions in the future, and it can also be said that these genotypes have the potential to be used as rootstock material in future breeding studies. Besides, It can be said that genotypes 2128; 2138; 2113; 2125 and Hazro Native genotype are moderately tolerant to salt stress. In addition, 2139 with Kırkağaç melon; 2136; Since genotypes 2115 and Şemmame genotype have the lowest scores, it can be said that they are sensitive to salt stress. As a result of the findings obtained, it is thought that this study can be used as a source in order to be able to choose between local genotypes in salt stress studies, breeding or breeding in the future. The fact that the genotypes used in the study can be used in studies such as increasing tolerance by grafting, traditional breeding studies for obtaining vegetables with high salt tolerance and breeding of vegetables with high salt tolerance with transgenetic approaches increases the importance of the study.
