Intralingual translation (122a-168b) and analysis of Diyarbekirli Ahmed Mürşidi's Pendname

In this study; Approximately 50 pages between 122a-168b of the Pendnâme of Ahmed Mürşidî, a mystic, pious and scholarly figure who was born and lived in Diyarbakır in the 18th century, were translated into modern Turkish and the stories in the specified range were analyzed. After a general overview of the pendnâme genre and the works written in this genre in the introduction, the author's life, personality and works are discussed In the first section; Information was given about the place and importance of the work Pendnâme in Turkish literature, and Mürşidî's language and style characteristics were mentioned based on Pendnâme. Examples of archaic words found in Pendnâme were given. In the second part, the content of the stories is given and the stories are discussed in the context of person, place, time, subject and main idea; It was analyzed in the light of verses and hadiths. In the third part, the intralingual translation of the range 122a-168b was included. The quotations and allusions to verses and hadiths that we could detect in the couplets were tried to be stated with footnotes. In the conclusion, it was stated that Mürşidî and his Pendnâme have a content, eloquence and rhetoric that is capable of educating the society materially and spiritually today and tomorrow.
