Abstract (EN)

Traditional aggregates widely used in the production of reinforced concrete structures pose various challenges in terms of sustainability due to their environmental impact and economic cost. Consequently, the search for environmentally friendly and sustainable materials in the construction sector has become increasingly important. This study experimentally investigates the effects of natural perlite aggregate on the structural behavior of reinforced concrete beams under pure torsion. Within the scope of the study, reinforced concrete beam specimens of strength classes C25 and C40, as well as P25 and P40 produced using natural perlite aggregate, were prepared. The specimens were subjected to pure torsion under axial loading, and structural parameters such as stiffness, crack formation, and ultimate torsional capacity were evaluated. The findings revealed that the use of natural perlite aggregate positively influenced the torsional behavior of the beams and demonstrated its potential as a sustainable alternative in concrete production.
