Özet (EN)

Actual amount of sediment transport through streamflows is not known because of the lack of sediment measurement stations and insufficient observation periods in Turkey. However, sediment transportation in streamflows is predicted empricalh/. For this reason, in this study, statistical suitability of sediment and flow data observed at the 16 stations for the watersheds in the East Mediterranean Region (17-East Mediterranean streamflows, 18-Seyhan watershed, 19-Hatay streamflows, 20-Ceyhan watershed) were examined, then regional sediment and flow frequency analysis were prepared. Sediment prediction equation with 2.33 recurrence interval was developed at regional level for East Mediterranean Region. A general sediment prediction equation and flow-area-sediment with probability were developed for subwatersheds in the region. As a result, in the research area, regional sediment frequency analysis was found to be the best method for predicting sediment in ungauged watersheds by comparing methods. Key Words: Hydrology Forecasting, Sediment Estimation, Flow Estimation, Watershed Characteristics, East Mediterranean Region
