East Anatolian`s political, social and economical history according to American consulater`s reports

The University Of Fırat The Institute Of Social Science The Department Of History U.S.A.. had opened consulates also in internal parts of Anatolia in like some seaport cities like İzmir and Istanbul. American mission is to become stranger in the zones where they have advantages as opening consulates. For that mission, they had economic, diplomatic, and social actions. Harput and Erzurum consulates are the most important ones that are in east Anatolia. They started to try to open consulates in 1890's. They send Thomas Herbert Norton as Harput Consul and Leo Bergholz as Erzurum Consul. Particularly, in that period of time they tried to profit from Turkiye's Armenian Question. They informed U.S.A. with reports. Consulates were in connecting with American colony which was in their zone. They woked together with American missioners. They made the guard of American Establishments which were in their zone. The consulates closed when the diplomatic connections finished between U.S.A. and Türkiye.
