Eastern Antalya tales

Turkish folk literature is wealthy in terms of the subjects it covers. This richness is based on the deep-rooted history of the Turkish language and culture. The nation's feelings, thoughts, lifestyles, etc. It is reflected in Turkish folk literature. Fairy tales, which are also important products of oral tradition, have been told from past to present. It has developed, changed and diversified throughout this process. Compilation activities in the field are needed to detect these variations. At the same time, cultural diversity is decreasing as technology develops and everyone has access to it. For all these reasons, East Antalya tales were compiled and examined according to functional folklore theory. In the introduction, information was given about the history, geography, social and economic situation our field of work. Additionally, terms such as tale, motif, type and theory and studies on tales in Antalya and Turkey were mentioned. In the First Chapter, the tales compiled from the field are classified. In addition, typology analysis was carried out and variants and different forms of the tales were identified. In the Second Chapter, the motifs contained in East Antalya tales were determined and examined according to Stith Thompson's study titled "Motif Index of Folk Literature". Additionally, phrases from fairy tales are also included. In the Third Chapter, East Antalya tales were examined and evaluated within the framework of "Functional Theory", based on the suggestions and opinions of William Bascom and İlhan Başgöz regarding the "Functions of Folklore". In the Fourth Chapter, there are 70 fairy tale texts compiled from East Antalya. The tales are given in standard Turkey Turkish, except for local words (rat, rat / mouse; ram, lizard / lizard, ...). In the results section, the obtained data were evaluated.
