Abstract (EN)

The studies on Turkey Turkish dialects can be classified as collation and analyzing research. Analyzing research densifies on phonetics, morphology and lexicology whereas studies on syntactic features of dialects are limited in the field. It is believed that the application of the approaches on verb-complement relations would give fruitful results on dialects. This gap in the field constitutes the starting point of this study. Within this framework, the focus of the study is the syntactical relations and the different usages in dialects. The valency grammar method, used in the last few decades in the syntactical analysis could be regarded as an appropriate approach in order to carry out this study. The term valency can be defined as the potential of a valency carrier - mostly verb- to open up syntactic slots and its potential to determine syntactic and semantic features of complements filling these slots. The aim of this study is to define the valence of the verbs in Eastern Dialects of Turkey Turkish, the different usages and their reasons. Accordingly, a corpus of 280.000 words consisting of the compilations regarding the four districts representing the subgroup of Eastern Dialects of Turkey Turkish, Van from I. group, Kars from II. group, Ardahan from III. group and Elazig from IV. grouphas been evaluated. As a result, a valence dictionary of 380 verbs has been generated, the differing usages have been determined and the reasons are explained. Keywords: Turkey Turkish dialects, Eastern dialects of Turkey Turkish, valency grammar, verb
