Özet (EN)

Determination of the Effect of Mode of Birth on Birth Satisfaction and Postpartum Maternal Behavior This descriptive study was conducted to determine the effect of the mode of birth on birth satisfaction and postpartum maternal behavior. The study was conducted between November 15, 2021, and May 15, 2022, with 336 postpartum women who gave birth at the Ministry of Health Mut State Hospital. The population of the study consisted of women who applied to the relevant hospital and gave birth. The sample size was calculated by a priori power analysis ANOVA (one-way) approach using G*power 3.1.9.6 software. "Personal Information Form", "Scale for Assessment of Maternal Satisfaction in Vaginal Delivery", "Scale for Assessment of Maternal Satisfaction in Cesarean Delivery" and "Postpartum Parenting Behavior Scale" scales were used to collect the data. Data were collected through face-to-face interviews. The data were analyzed in IBM SPSS Statistics 24.0 software. Statistical significance was evaluated at p<0.05 level. The mean scores of the Maternal Satisfaction in Birth Assessment Scale were 123±17.09, 116±14.23, and 120.99±10.85 for vaginal birth, planned cesarean section, and emergency cesarean section, respectively. The mean scores of the Postpartum Parenting Behavior Scale were 4.32±1.86, 5.06±1.19, and 5.05±1.25 for vaginal birth, planned cesarean section, and emergency cesarean section, respectively. While there was no statistically significant difference between the mode of birth and the mean scores of the Maternal Satisfaction at Birth Assessment Scale (p>0.05), there was a significant difference between the mode of Childbirth and the mean scores of the Postpartum Parenting Behavior Scale (p<0.05). As a result of the research, it was found that women who gave vaginal birth and had emergency cesarean section had a high level of satisfaction at birth, while those who had planned cesarean section were low, the mode of delivery did not affect the birth satisfaction of the mothers, but it affected the postpartum parenting behavior of the mothers. women who delivered by cesarean section were found to have more positive parenting behavior than women who delivered vaginally.
