Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study was to determine whether development of the digestive system have an effect on the live weight difference at the end of the 42-day rearing period in broiler chickens. Study was conducted at broiler trial unit of the Ahi Evran University, Agricultural Faculty, and Department of Animal Science. Broilers were reared on wooden shaving with same basal diet for 42 days. At the end of the 42-day, 20 broiler chicks for per weight group were cut off with average weight Light= 2200±5, Medium= 2400±5 and Heavy= 2600±5 gr. Starter diet including 23% CP and 3060 kcal/kg metabolize energy and finisher diet including %20 CP and 3155 kcal/kg metabolize energy were used in this study. At the end of the study, villi length, villi width, ileal goblet cell numbers, horizontal villi length and crypt depth was not change among the groups (P>0,05). Lamina muscularis mucosae was higher in medium weight group than those of Light and heavy weight groups (P<0.05). To conclude, the difference in live weight resulted from the competition between the animals consumed same diet in the same environmental conditions and resulted in more live weight gain of the animals consuming more feed.
