Investigation of the effect of pliometric training on some performance parameters applied in martial arts

Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of pliometric training on some performance parameters in combat athletes. In our research, a total of 44 athletes (Training = 22, Control = 22) who were involved in martial arts in the province of Ankara were enrolled voluntarily. In addition to the routine training program, the pliometric training sessions were carried out to be 25-35 minutes per day and 2 days per week for 8 weeks. The control group continued their routine training and no additional application was performed. At the beginning of our study, pre-tests were performed for both groups, and after the 8-week application, final tests were performed. In our study, age, height, body weight were measured and body mass index was calculated to determine the descriptive characteristics of the participants. 10-20 m sprint test to monitor the development of the velocity feature, vertical jump test and kick force test to determine the development of explosive power, in order to determine the development of upper extremity strength, sitting chest chest flush test and standing bottom medical ball test to determine the agility, ilionis test was used. Since the data were found to be normal distribution, parametric tests were preferred for statistical analysis. Dependent sample t-test was used for pre-post-group comparisons and independent sample t-test was used for intergroup comparisons. A statistically significant difference was found between the groups in the pre-post test of the pre-post test of the study and control groups (p <0.05). When the pre-test results were compared between the groups, it was found that there was a statistically significant difference in vertical jump, standing long jump, explosive power and ilionis final test values (p <0.05). In the other selected parameters, there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups in the pre- and post-test values (p> 0.05). There was a significant difference between the groups in terms of developmental differences between the groups and in comparison of% ubu of development (p <0.01). As a result, pliometric trainings added to routine training programs have positive effects on the development of performance components.
