Abstract (EN)
In recent years, the importance of the decisions made by the firm and the firm characteristics are emphasized increasingly to reveal the reasons and the consequences international trade with the fundamental and extensive alterations that started to be observed since the mid 90's, under favor of the increase in accessibility of firm level data. The alteration that has emerged in international trade is called New New Trade Theory (NNTT). In the context of NNTT heterogeneous firm models that were improved with the leadership of Melitz (2003) must focus on firm productivity and on the situation of what different characteristics the firms within the same sector will display. In this context, purpose of the study is the survey of how the financial constraints and the firm influence the export conduct of the other firm characteristics, and of the reallacotion mechanisms that were mainly observed in the sector after the trade liberalization that were stated in Levinshon (1999), in the models that were developed in the context of heterogeneous firm, using firm level data between 2003 and 2013 about Turkish economy manufacturing industry; and the survey of extra gains from trade that were stated in Melitz (2003). Manufacturing sector analysis results show us the restrictive effect of financial constraints on the export performance of the firm while revealing the positive relationship between total factor productivity and the export of the firm. On the other hand, findings emphasize the necessity of formation of the firm-based policies that aim for a more efficient use of resources to increase resource allocative efficiency having regard to many operating firms that has the potential to get into the export market but is not an exporter in the policies that aim to increase the export volume.
