Abstract (EN)
In this study, preventative maintenance procedures used in approximately100 work machines in DSİ Çukurova region were evaluated and as a result of thisevaluation the efficiecy in the machines used between the years 2005-2010 wasmeasured; the benefits of preventative maintenance were examined.The aim of this study is to determine the effects of the present preventativeprocedures used in machines in extending the life span of the machines and also todetermine the accuracy of the maintenance periods.In conclusion, it was proved that the maintenance performed regularly and bycompetent prople extens the life span of the machines, therefore preventing failureswhich will result in job losses and large costs.Key Words: Machinery, periodic maintenance, preventive maintenance, machinelife, the success of the economic business.
