Abstract (EN)
This research was conducted to evaluate integration trends in the world economy in the context of core-periphery relations. In economic integrations, while the countries maintain their economic independence, the tariffs between the member states of the integration created are abolished and trade opens up. Although regional economic merger tendencies have been observed since ancient times, their intense feeling dates back to the 19th century. After the end of the Second World War, economic integration tendencies, which are seen to be more intense, are constantly increasing until today. During the period of the Cold War, countries in a bipolar world order blocked by one of the sovereign countries and went to meet their security and economic needs. The integration tendencies seen during this period were not only for security purposes but also for economic development. Integration trends, which are increasing in number in the international arena, have kept the structure of the core-periphery relationship between the countries on the agenda. Core countries which are dominant in comparison to other countries take measures to protect these conditions for a long time, while environmental countries aim to improve their economies by taking advantage of the economic power of the dominant country. This hierarchical order that dominates the world economy causes resources to flow from periphery countries to the core country. Key Words: Economic Integration, Core-Periphery, Mercantilist Integration, Imperialist Integration, Hegemonıc Integration, Post Hegemonic Integration
