Abstract (EN)

SUMMARY THE IMPACTS OF INTELLECTUAL CAPITAL ON SERVICE SECTOR IN THE WORLD AND TURKEY Intellectual capital is the most significant source and an integral part of the knowledge-based new economy. As a result of economical and developmental contributions of intellectual capital, in every respect it has become a remarkable subject. Accordingly, there has been an outstanding increase on the studies carried out for finding out how to measure and manage intellectual capital. As well as countries, businesses also focus on the intellectual capital studies in order to keep up with the constantly changing global economy and to provide competitive advantage. Therefore intellectual capital is a concept that needs to be well understood and planned as the most substantial determinant for using the past, present and future sources in the most effective and efficient way as a whole. In this context, the study examines the intellectual capital values of different countries and our country and the effects of these values on service sector the comparison of these values. In the first part of this three-part study, the concept and elements of intellectual capital and the measurement of intellectual capital, in the second part, nature of services and service sector are examined in detail. The third and the last part of the study, the national intellectual capital values of various countries and comparisons of these values are given.
