Analysis of some applications of green urbanism in the world

Urbanization is important but an unplanned Urbanism has created an unhealthy World. İt has brought a lot of environmental issues, for example rapid increase in population unplanned industrialization and environmental pollution. And the unplanned development had given rise to issues that led to Global warming. To face the challenges, there is a need to engage into practices that could help to amend the issues. This has led to the main aim of the project which involved evaluating American and European cities in regards to the past and present issues concerning urban areas in terms of Green Urbanism. To keep up with the vision of green urbanism in countries newly involved or are yet to take up the practice. The scope of the study generally included Urban Planning, Urban Ecology, Landscape Urbanism and Sustainable Urbanism. 50 Cities from 5 continents ranging from Europe, America, Asia, Africa and Australia respectively have been used as materials in the research. A look into previous reports from European Green Capital and Green City Index had also been used as a method of analysis. The material gathered had made it possible to identify the existing environmental issues and the possible solution. The research has a potential of promoting good practices of Green Urbanism. İt can been taken into consideration as a stepping stone for researchers interested in the same field.
