Abstract (EN)

This study has been conducted through the foundation excavation of the AYAS 600 MW Coal Fired Power Plant construction at Adana-Yumurtalik region. Alluvium formed from clay exsists under the coal stock area and Stacker Reclaimer formations at east region of working zone. The wick drain application has been done to prevent the problems through settlement from filling or constructions on the area. As a result of that, consolidation in shorter time has been obtained. It has been proposed that settlement achieved by ground correction method would be maximum 1.00 meter. Therefore, 6900 wick drain with 55500.0 meters total length were applied at A and B axes. After this application, controlled filling and surcharc has been applied. Extansometer values has been taken and flow measurements has been read to observe the working capasities of the drain. The observed maximum settlement according to certain measured value has been found as 0.93 m.
