Abstract (EN)

This thesis, alternative working fluids to R134a are determined and energy, exergy and life cycle climate performance (LCCP) analyses of R512A, R513A, R515A, R1234yf working fluids with low or no global warming potential (GWP) and ozone depletion potential (ODP) are investigated by operating with Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC). For the thermodynamic analyses of the system, the boiler temperature was kept constant and the fluids were compared with certain increases in the condenser temperature. Then, in the same system, keeping the condenser temperature constant, fluids were compared at variable boiler temperatures; energy, exergy and LCCP analyses were performed. Based on the analysis values, it was determined that R512A is the most suitable fluid for the ORC system alternative to R134a fluid. For lifetime climate performance (LCCP) analyses, it was determined that R512A fluid emits 49.85% less CO2 than R134a fluid in the analyses performed at boiler temperature 65°C and condenser temperature 32 °C
