The relationships between emotional intelligence, cultural intelligence and strategic thinking

This research was carried out to determine the relationships between emotional intelligence, cultural intelligence and strategic thinking. The sample of the research consists of business managers working in the East Marmara Region and especially in Istanbul. Research data were obtained by online survey technique. The total number of questionnaires that were evaluated and used in data analysis was 310. The main analyzes used in the research; frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, factor analysis, correlation analysis, t-test and One-Way Anova analysis. Considering the results obtained in the research, there are weak and moderate positive relations between emotional intelligence, cultural intelligence and strategic thinking. Among the sub-dimensions, the most related dimensions are systems thinking and metacognitive cultural intelligence. The second highest correlated dimensions are timely thinking and metacognitive cultural intelligence. Metacognitive cultural intelligence is the dimension of the cultural intelligence sub-dimensions that is most related to the strategic thinking and emotional intelligence sub-dimensions. Among the sub-dimensions of the variables, the least related dimensions are cognitive cultural intelligence sub-dimension, intention orientation and timely thinking. The dimension with which emotional intelligence sub-dimensions are most related is the dimension of systems thinking. The dimension with which it is least related is motivational cultural intelligence. The dimension of strategic thinking that is most related to the sub-dimensions of other variables is the dimension of systems thinking. The second highest related dimension is timely thinking. The dimension that strategic thinking sub-dimensions are most related to among emotional intelligence sub-dimensions is positive emotional use dimension.
