Özet (EN)
This study was conducted as a three-group randomized controlled intervention study to determine the effect of e-mobile and written education on quality of life and sleep in patients undergoing transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP). The sample of the study consisted of 83 patients (e-mobile education= 27, written education= 28 and control group= 28) who met the sample selection criteria and volunteered to participate in the study in a university hospital. Patients in the e-mobile training group were provided with e-mobile training and consultancy services for 3 months, starting before the surgery. The patients in the written training group were given a written training booklet and were given face-to-face or telephone training and counselling services at certain intervals. The data of the study were collected using the personal information form prepared in line with the literature, International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS), Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia Quality of Life Scale (BPH-QC), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PUKI). In addition to descriptive statistics, the Spearman correlation coefficient, Kruskal-Wallis H, Pearson-χ2 and Friedman tests were used to evaluate the data. A statistically significant difference was found in the mean IPSS, BPH-QC, and PUKI scores of the patients in the e-mobile education, written education and control groups according to the interview times (p<0.001). In comparisons made within the groups, IPSS score averages were in favour of e-mobile education in the 1st month, IPSS-YK score averages were in favour of e-mobile education in the 1st month and e-mobile and written education in the 3rd month, BPH-YK average scores in the 3rd month were in favour of written A difference was found in favour of education and in favour of the e-mobile education group at the 3rd month in PSQI score averages (p<0.05). In conclusion; It has been found that the training given to patients who have undergone TURP has an effect on the quality of life and sleep. In line with these results, it can be recommended that patients use e-mobile and written training in order to increase their quality of life and sleep.
