Abstract (EN)

It may be possible to prevent the development of cirrhosis and chronical liverdamages by determining the liver damages at the beginning phases. In our research,it is aimed to investigate the preservative role of vitamin E on the liverhistomorphology, MDA levels and the influences on the Mast cells by the liverdamage which is formed by the practice of carbon tetrachloride.In our research rats were classified in 5 groups. To the first group, which is thecontrol group, 0.2 mg/kg serum physiological was implemented for a week period byintraperitoneal ( i.p.) way. While 250mg/kg E vitamin was given to the second groupas intramuscular ( i.m.), three times 0.2 ml/kg carbon tetrachloride (CCl 4) as i.p. wasgiven on alternate days in a week period to the third group. To the fourth group, threetimes 250 mg/kg E vitamin as i.m. and 0.2 ml/kg CCl as i.p. were practisedsimultaneously. To the fifth group, firstly 250 mg/kg vitamin E as i.m. was practisedjust once. Afterwards 0.2 ml/kg CCl4 as i.p. was practised three times. At the end ofthe experiment nearby the histomorphological investigation, biochemical MDA valuesare evaluated on the sacrificed rats.While the intensity of histopatological findings abating in the forth and fifthgroups which are formed in the third group, it is determined that vitamin E caused todecrease the MDA values and in addition to this it is reduced the number of mastcells.Key Words: Liver, Carbon tetrachloride , Vitamin E, Mast Cells , MDA
