Abû Ishâq al-Shîrâzî's understanding of abrogation (naskh)

This work which is called "Abû Ishâq al-Shîrâzî's understanding of abrogation (naskh)" consists of one entrance and two other parts. In the entrance part, the subject and presentation, restriction, purpose and importance, conceptive frame, method and technique of the work were mentioned. In addition to that, main sources of the work were also given in the this part. In the first part, informations were quoted about Shîrâzî's era, life, teachers and students. In the second part which ise the main part of the work, Shîrâzî's apprehensions related to abrogation (naskh) were tried to be presented. In the main part of work, the titles were arranged in accordance with subjects in Shîrâzî's Luma, Sharh al-Luma and Tabsira works. In this part, there are titles about mâhiyat (nature), possiblity and occurrence of abrogation, abrogation of an order before fulfilling, alternative and non-alternative abrogation, abrogation of a statement which expresses endlessness, kinds of abrogation, subject of abrogation, abrogation in informative statements, abrogation of evidences, abrogation in context of previous religions and ziyâda al'a nas and abrogation. Under every title, in addition to Shîrâzî's apprehensions, prominant scholars apprehensions related to abrogation were given. Sometimes Shîrâzî's apprehensions of naskh were compared with the apprehensions of scholars. When the subject of abrogation in Shîrâzî's works are observed, it is seen that Shîrâzî has a debater personalitiy. He mostly gives different apprehensions and explains his apprehension explicitly with the evidences. Sometimes he gives different apprehensions and probale objections and tries to refute them. While Shîrâzî's apprehensions were presented in this work, sometimes it was dwelled upon reasons of different apprehensions and some illations and evaluations related to subject were made. In Shîrâzî's works the views of many sects are mentioned in the context of subject. However it would not be wrong that the sect he mostly criticizes is the Mu'tazile. In the context of abrogation Mu'tazilî thoughts were brought up and criticized in various places of his works. It is seen that sometimes he adhered to usul tradition and sometimes showed opposition to the usul tradition. Sometimes he adopted the opposite view which he adopted in his previous works.
