Abstract (EN)

Abū'l-Ḥasan al-Ash'arī (d. 324/935) is one of the prominent authors of the historical development of various doctrinal and political sects in Islamic history. This study focuses on the theological and political concepts valued in Shī'ism, a school of thought that has left its mark on the history of Islamic intellectual discourse, through the lens of al-Ash'arī's renowned work, titled Maqālāt al-Islāmiyyīn wa Ihtilāf al-Musallīn. Contextualization and accurate utili-zation of concepts are of utmost importance in shaping human's perception about them. It is crucial to comprehend their correct usage and understanding throughout their formative stages and subsequent periods, which necessitates an awareness of their historical development and connections. Notably, a concept initially conceived in a political context can evolve and ac-quire theological significance over time. Therefore, this study seeks to shed light on the histor-ical trajectory of these concepts as addressed by al-Ash'arī in his aforementioned work, taking into consideration the semantic meanings and terminological nuances within the framework of specific temporal and spatial contexts.
