Prophet conception of Ebû Nu?aym El-Isfahânî

Musa BAĞCIDiyarbakır/2011The subject of this study is the conception of Hz. Prophet stated in the narratives in the ?Delâilu?n-Nübüvve?, the book of Ebû Nu?aym el-İsfahânî, which we believe has large impact on arising widespread wrong opinions about Hz. Prophet among public. Our aim is to at least put a right Prophet conception by evaluating these narratives under the scope of Quran, reliable hadiths and historical facts. Our study consists of one introduction part and two chapters.Introduction part focuses on Delâilu'n-Nübüvve and Hasâisu?n-Nebeviyye concepts, informative informations about the book that is the subject of this thesis, and its author, Prophet concept and characteristic features of Prophets and virtue of Hz. Prophet.Narratives regarding prophethood evidences between the time before Hz. Prophet's birth and untill prophethood period was investigated in the first chapter. Most of these narratives were attempted to be shown untruthful, were not in aggreement with Quran's explanations that introduces Hz. Prophet as a human, with reliable hadiths and with historical realities. It was concluded that these narratives were resulted in dissapperance of Hz. Prophet's real identity and perception as a superhuman creature.Narratives regarding prophethood evidences in context with extraordinary events occured in Hz. Prophet's prophethood period was investigated in the second chapter. It was reached a conclusion that most of these narratives were also exaggeration that aimed to show Hz. Prophet as showing more miracles than other prophets.Some other narratives regarding prophethood evidences in context with extraordinary events occured Hz.
