Ebuzziya Mehmet Tevfik and the translation of the newspaper Sirac into Latin letters

Human beings have put emphasis on learning and discovering since the moment they set foot on the earth. Fort his reason, it's possible to see the records of sculptures, ornaments, various tools used by people to exprees themselves even before the writing was invented. But after the invention of writing, the information capacity of human being has devoloped and expanded and people have divided into communities in search of geographical, historical, political, socio-economical and ethnological identities. This has created an introvert and normative society. Thus, the divided societies have tried different ways to have contact with each other, become super power, develop society and decide strategy since apporoximately 10th-15th centuries. The experiences after invention of printing pres have been the most important of these ways. As I mentioned in my work in details, the development of printing pres has put ligt on journalism and the terms related to journalism. The newspaper "Sirac" (Hijri 1290/ Gregorian 1873) that I have translated to Latin letters was published by Ebüzziya Tevfik. İt's a daily newspaper consisting of sixty four pages in total; four pages three columns daily. Sometimes there are pictures (woman, bed) on issues and there are corners for advertisements. At the same time, the events of those times are given fearlessly. There is information about democracies, economy, social lives, transportation, communication functions of popular countries. The most important thing about this newspaper is that it gives information about situation of Ottoman Empire which Turkish people consider.
