Analysis of Edirne tourism with logistic regression

The tourism sector, which is of great importance in the welfare and economy, social, cultural and environmental development of the country, as it is in the whole world, is changing and developing day by day in Turkey. Turkey, which has the potential of many destinations suitable for the changing tourist demand, is one of the important tourism destinations in the world. Edirne province, which is the leading city in cultural tourism in Turkey; It has an important privilege in terms of its rich historical values, being a border city and the development of tourism with its natural values. Apart from domestic and foreign visitors coming to the city for cultural tourism, the number of visitors coming to the city for traditional events every year is quite high. In this study, domestic tourists who visited Edirne at least once were asked to evaluate their travel experiences with the applied questionnaire. With the data obtained after the evaluation, Binary Logistic Regression Analysis was performed in the SPSS 26. Factors affecting the intention to revisit Edirne and recommend it to someone else were examined on binary logistic regression analysis. As a result of the analysis, the factors affecting the return of domestic tourists to Edirne; age, education level, the number of travel to Edirne for tourism purposes, the satisfaction level of the last Edirne trip, natural areas and a clean environment. The factors affecting the local tourists' recommending Edirne province to someone else were determined as education level and satisfaction level of the last Edirne trip. It is thought that the results of the analysis will guide the relevant tourism stakeholders in order to increase tourist satisfaction.
