The education system in Afghanistan and recent curriculum attempts

This paper is a Ph.D. study which focuses on the Education System in Afghanistan. The research discusses the education system and curriculum development activities in dif-ferent periods of education from the past to present. It focuses on the emergence of modern education, the latest condition of education in the country, and the improvement of educa-tion for the future in Afghanistan. The study specially focuses on the education system and curriculum activities in the last twenty years from 2001 to 2021. It's a qualitative study con-ducted through document analysis technique. Reports, laws and regulations, national strate-gic plans, annual education reports of the ministry of education and some special books re-lated to education is used for data and analyzed to find out solution to the problem of the research. This paper provides recommendations for the education specialist in Afghanistan to be able to develop a stable and national education system and curriculum for primary and secondary levels.
