Özet (EN)

Edvard Grieg, who drew inspiration from his country and was one of the pioneers of the nationalistic movement, is an extremely important composer who brought Norwegian music and Nordic culture to the art world. He skillfully brought out the hidden harmonies in his works by processing melodies from folk music with a subjective romanticism. He became a composer who introduced the Norwegian treasure to the world. His efforts to create a national art were appreciated in his country and he received the title of "Norwegian Folk Representative." In the first part of this study, information was provided about Edvard Grieg's origins, environment, education, and figures who influenced his music and interpretation of his works. Information was also given about the nationalistic movement he was a pioneer of and his relationship with this movement. The composer's musical style was examined based on his piano works, and the rhythmic, technical, and melodic elements he used in his works were identified. In the second part, information was provided about the Op. 16 Piano Concerto, one of the most frequently performed piano concertos in the piano repertoire, and a thematic analysis was conducted.
