Abstract (EN)
Orientalism, which is a western-centered domain shaped by the dialectic between the West and the East, obtains to be a discourse qualification occurs through the texts in a fictional atmosphere with the book called Orientalism Western Conceptions of the Orient published in 1978 by Edward W. Said. In this study, it is aimed to be revealed the view of orientalism in the postmodern narration that Said draws the theoretical framework of it. Within this context in the study, with subjecting to an orientalist reading of the novels of Ihsan Oktay Anar, Hasan Ali Toptas, Elif Safak and Orhan Pamuk who are leading figures of the postmodern Turkish novel, it is demonstrated how the representations forms of East have transformed into a discourse form in a postmodern fiction in the novels that identified eastern representation forms. In the study which has discussed whether postmodern writers have an orientalist point of view and reflect it as part of the narrative, it is enlightened the theoretical framework that has been effective in becoming the orientalist elements a popular material in the postmodern narration.
